Welcome to Douglas' page

Douglas was born in September 2008 and was Nickie's son.

Douglas

Douglas was the first Tri boy we had kept for some while and we had high hopes for him in the show ring.

At his first show he won his class and Best Puppy but at Championship show level it took two shows before he qualified for Crufts 2010. In May 2009 he came into his own with another Best Puppy and BOB at an Open Show and winning Minor Puppy Dog at Birmingham National Championship Show. Judge Lorraine Gillhespy said about him

"8 mth old best marked tri. I have seen for a long time whose stunning outline could not be overlooked. He stands four square at all times and when looking at him in side profile you see a wonderful reach of neck, well laid back shoulders, level topline and wagging tail set on and carried correctly. He has a most attractive head, rich tan markings, large dark eyes and correctly set ears. His coat is silky in texture and already has good length to it. His spring of rib is well developed, he is short in back and has well turned stifles. His front movement was a joy to watch. "

2010 continued to be successful with Douglas winning his class at 4 Championship shows during the year, he was entered at 26 shows and was only unplaced on 2 occassions, a remarkable record for a Tri colour.

Honeybet Magic Touch - BOB and Dog CC - South Wales KC
7th October 2011 under judge Paula Stark, with thanks to Leila Tarabad who showed him as Marian was judging abroad.

"This handsome well broken and crisply marked Tri shown in full coat, caught my eye immediately and the more I looked at him the more I was impressed; nothing was exaggerated in his overall conformation, lovely masculine head with large round dark expressive eyes, clean well shaped muzzle, even clear face markings with rich tan highlights, all framed by long correctly set ears, elegant reach of neck and shoulder placement, firm deep cobby body and strong angulated quarters; he moved with drive and style carrying his head proudly, whilst keeping a perfectly level backline; presented a balanced outline both standing and on the move, his correct type, size, perfect deportment and presentation made him irresistible; I was delighted to award him the CC and on the agreement of the Referee, Best Of Breed."

Douglas won Best In Show at the ECCKCSS Open Show
in October 2013 under judge Mrs Deidre Thomas

Douglas won Best Veteran In Show and Reserve Best Dog at the Southern CKCS Open Show
in July 2017 under judge Mrs Ann Bayliss

"9 year old lovely Tri, a nice short coupled dog with excellent conformation, he had a lovely head and dark large eyes giving him the correct expression for the breed, he stood four square and was one of the soundest dogs here today."
